General Relativity

General Relativity is Albert Einstein's theory of gravity, which explains gravity not as a force pulling objects together but as the effect of mass and energy curving the fabric of space and time itself, called spacetime. Objects like planets and light rays move along the straightest possible paths through this curved spacetime, and what we experience as "falling" is really just following that curve. This theory explains phenomena like the bending of starlight around the sun and the existence of black holes, regions where spacetime curves so extremely that nothing can escape.
